SERMONS IN STONE

Fortyish, Guelph, Ontario-born Sculptress Marion Sanford models an imaginative "Plastilina" group (above) in her spacious Manhattan studio.  The completed statue, cast in stone, will be entitled "Mother and Child." At 21, she diverted her talents from stage set-designing and dramatics to sculpture, is the only woman who ever served as a sculptor's apprentice.
