ALLAN FRUMKIN GALLERY, Inc. 545 North Michigan Ave. Chicago 11, Illinois SU 7-0563

May 6, 1964.

Dear Roy,
I'm back in Chicago again, and trying to get down to work after the footloose week I had in California. I was very pleased to meet you and visit your place, and feel very happy about being able to arrange your appearance in my Chicago show. I'll probably be in New York next week, and I'll let you know what I think of the work there, and also advise you of my selection for the Chicago show.

I did have one thought after I left you. I'm planning to do a big poster for the exhibition (tentative tile incidentally, "Four California Artists") and thought you might like to dream up something for it. My idea was a poster in two colors (red and black ?) around 18x24 inches or less. If you would like to do something, I can give you all the dope (although you could simply leave a space for type) and you can take it from there. If you don't like the idea, there is no problem - we will simply do something else. Since you are "resting" at the moment, I thought the idea might appeal to you. Do let me know.

Meanwhile, we are making all the other arrangements, and I do expect it to be a very exciting affair. I'll look forward to your thoughts about this, and hope you feel inclined to try your hand at this. Actually the other info for the poster isn't too complicated; it goes like this ALLAN FRUMKIN GALLERY 620 North Michigan NEW ADDRESS: FOUR CALIFORNIA ARTISTS June 15th through July. (At the moment I don't think one need list the artists on the poster, but that could be added.) You may have some thoughts (a porthole or two?!) but really, almost anything goes as long as it is visual and possible to produce fairly reasonably.

Well, that is all I have on my mind at the moment. Do let me hear from you about this.

All best,
Allan Frumkin
