lessons will eventually blossom into a regular fine arts school of a caliber that will attract people from all parts of the country. And that this school will have Horace Pippin as its base.

Via Pippin I have devised a method of teaching painting that once & for all excludes all theorys, fads, & techniques, and it is working wonders with the few students I have now. Very briefly, this method gives the person who has never painted before a chance to get directly throu to himself bypassing all pre-conceived ideas, desires, & notions about painting. For the person who has had experience in painting, it swings them around into a more solid painting ground.

This is a rather hazy & short explanation of something I have had in mind for the last three years, but I don't want to bore you with any long explanations unless of course you are interested. My encounter with Pippin was an important event as it brought all my thoughts about painting and the history of painting into focus.

So, any leads you can give me as to the whereabouts of some Pippin reproductions would be greatly appreciated. My best regards to you & Mrs Carlen,

Bob Muson
