My dear Mr. Carlen:
Mrs. Roosevelt says she will be glad to try to see the exhibition of Horace Pippin's paintings next season, but she does not feel that she can act as sponsor. She is refusing to lend her name to anything new at this time.
Very sincerely yours,
Malvina C. Thompson
Secretary to Mrs. Roosevelt
