BIGNOU GALLERY ROLLS-ROYCE BUILDING 32 EAST 57TH STEET NEW YORK DIRECTORS GEORGES F. KELLER DUNCAN MACDONALD PARIS 8, RUE LA BOETIE CABLE ADDRESS "ETIBIGNOU" TELEPHONE-PLAZA 3-2568 September 16th, 1940 Mr. Robert Carlen The Carlen Galleries 323 South 16th Street Philadelphia, Pa. Dear Mr. Carlen: I wish to acknowledge receipt this morning of your letter addressed to Mr. Macdonald. As his return to New York has been unavoidably delayed, Mr. Macdonald has asked me to get the necessary data from you for the Press Releases which will be sent out before his arrival. Therefore I would be very grateful if you would send me the list of paintings to be included in Mr. Pippin's exhibition; the names of collectors who at present own any of his work; and any interesting facts about the artist himself. I would also be glad to receive any photographs of his paintings which you may have, these to show to the magazines with early closing dates. As I must give the material for the catalogue to the Printer this week, I would be very grateful if you could send the list of paintings by return mail. If the paintings could arrive in our gallery, already framed, by the beginning of next week, this would give us an opportunity to show them to the Press before the formal opening of the exhibition. Thanking you in anticipation, I remain, Very truly yours, M. Sharkey for BIGNOU GALLERY
