BIGNOU GALLERY ROLLS-ROYCE BUILDING 32 EAST 57TH STEET NEW YORK DIRECTORS GEORGES F. KELLER DUNCAN MACDONALD PARIS 8, RUE LA BOETIE CABLE ADDRESS "ETIBIGNOU" TELEPHONE-PLAZA 3-2568 September 18th, 1940 Mr. Robert Carlen Carlen Galleries 323 South 16th Street Philadelphia, Pa. Dear Mr. Carlen: I want to thank you for all the material on Mr. Pippin's work, which was safely received this morning. Your card stating that the Portrait of Marian Anderson will be ready for inclusion in the Show also arrived safely. Mention of a foreword was made in Mr. Macdonald's letter and I therefore presume arrangements have been made by him. Regarding a formal opening - we never hold a private viewing for any of our exhibitions, but do send out invitations or catalogues to all our clients. Therefore, if you would be kind enough to send me a list of the people you would like catalogues sent to, we will be glad to mail them for you. In this way we could avoid duplication, should any of your people have been already addressed from our own mailing list. Looking forward to seeing you and Mr. Pippin here in New York on Friday, and thanking you for sending the material so promptly, I remain, Yours very truly, Margaret Sharkey BIGNOU GALLERY
