I am writing to thank you for your very kind letter informing me of the exhibition of the work by Horace Pippin the Negro painter which is to be held at the Bignou Gallery.
 
It is most gratifying to hear of such a find especially among a people so neglected and so misunderstood. Let us hope that our country will realize more and more how much Paul Robeson, Marie Anderson, and Robinson, and perhaps many others we do not hear of, have contributed to our national life. - cultural and sportive.....

You certainly deserve a great deal of credit and am sure as the years roll by Pippin's success will prove to be a source
