Dear Mr. Carlen:

I have just been talking to Mr. Lansdale of NEWS-WEEK, who says they will do a story on Mr. Pippin if he can come to New York this week to be interviewed and have photographs taken with his paintings. Tomorrow or Thursday would be preferable, but Friday morning would still give them time to make the issue before its closing date. I think this would be very worth-while publicity and worth Mr. Pippin's making the trip, even if it meant he could not come up again during the first days of the exhibition, as the newspaper critics in New York usually restrict themselves to pure criticism - and do not bother with personal interviews.

I would appreciate it if you could take this matter up with Mr. Pippin and let me know his answer sometime tomorrow.

Awaiting your early reply, I am,

Yours very truly,
Margaret Sharkey
