CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH OBJECTS ARE RECEIVED BY THE WILMINGTON SOCIETY OF THE FINE ARTS

LOANS
I. Works of art which are received by the Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts as loans will be delivered upon the surrender of this receipt, a written order of the lender, or of his duly authorized agent or legal representative. In the case of the death of the lender, the legal representative of the deceased is requested to notify the Director of the Society forthwith, giving full name and address in writing.

The legal title of the owners of the Delaware Art Center is "The Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts, Incorporated."

II. Any object lent to the Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts may be returned to the lender upon reasonable notice being given.

III. Permission to copy or photograph works of art which are loaned to the Society is granted only after consent has been obtained from the owners.

IV. The Society will exercise the same precautions in respect to loans that it does for the safekeeping of its own property; but it does not insure objects loaned to it against damage, nor loss by fire or theft, except when borrowed by the Society for special exhibitions.

LOANS FOR SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS

I. The Society will insure the objects as listed and valued, wall to wall all risk coverage (This coverage does not include loss or damage incurred by war, invasion hostilities, rebellion, insurrection, confiscation by order of an government or public authority, risks of contraband or illegal transportation and/or trade.)

II. The Society will pay packing and transportation charges both ways on objects it requests for loan.

III. Unless specified by the lender in writing to the contrary, the Society will assume that it has permission to photograph the objects listed, and use those photographs for catalog, educational, or publicity purposes only. We will not remove paintings from their frames.

IV. The objects will be returned to the lender as soon after the close of the exhibition as possible.

CONDITIONS REGARDING GIFTS

The Directors of the Wilmington Society of the Fine Arts will consider the objects listed in this receipt as an unrestricted gift, offered without limiting conditions, for the purpose of the Society, unless the proffer already submitted in writing has definitely stated otherwise.

CONDITIONS REGARDING OBJECTS OFFERED FOR SALE

I. In the event of the purchase by the Society of any objects described in this receipt, it shall become void.

II. If it is not desired to purchase the objects described in this receipt, they will be surrendered to the owner upon presentation of this receipt.

III. The Society is not responsible for the safekeeping of objects entrusted to it beyond the exercise of such precautions as are in force for the keeping and preservation of the property of the Society itself, and will not be liable for damage, not loss by fire or theft.
