Very truly yours,

Dear Miss Fitch:
The Pippin "Holy Mountain IV is still owned by Jane Kendall Gingrich. I sold this picture to her back in the early 40's. She is very old and bed ridden, and has turned down many requests for the loan of this picture as well as any of the others she owns. The Philllips Museum in Washington who is arranging a large show of Pippin's pictures has also been refused as well as the Chadd's Ford Museum and Dintenfaas in N.Y.C. who also ae putting on shows of Pippin's works.

Pippin copied the subject from a Peaceable Kingdom of Edward Hicks which I own and which he saw hanging in my living room. This painting I loaned to the State Dept. in Washington, D.C. for a period of 5 years. I started collecting Hicks' paintings 38 years ago when no one showed any interest in Hicks' paintings.

The book Selden Rodman did on Harace Pippin, the story came from me. fppadeddthe American Abolitionist Society in 1839. It showshim holding his famous paper he wrote "AMERICAN SLAVERY AS IT IS", in N.Y.C. in 1839. I also own, and which is for sale, the painting by the important American painter Thomas Waterman Wood (1823-1903) titled "HIS FIRST VOTE" signed and dated 1868 (BLACK REPUBLICAN).

I was Rippin's dealer from 1939 and gave him his first show in Jan. 1940.
I have a rare original signed and dated color etching of Berkeley College by KASMIR. It is in perfect condition and color and framed. Price is $175.00 plus
