1st  A freedman named James Daniels, who was working on a Mr. Henry Orr's place, near Franklin in Heard County, was shot by a party of person in disguise, (on the night of the 25th of August last) known as the "Black Cavalry"

2nd  A negro woman, named Mary Philpot, was killed on the night of Sept 1st 1866, on David Philpots place in Heard County by some parties unknown, her screams and cries of murder were heard, and her mangled body found soon after, but no clue as to the perpetrator has ever been obtained,

3rd  A freedman named Green Berry Ferrell, was killed near Husten's Ferry in Troup Co., last Septr by some parties unknown, belonging to this organization, styled - "Black Cavalry"

4th  A freedman named Jeff Chivers was shot near Husten's in Troup Co the latter part of August or 1st of Sept. last; he has since recovered, but the guilty party has not been arrested.

5th  Chauncey Wright, (freedman) was killed, near Franklin, Heard Co. several months since, but the parties are not known that committed the crime.
