I think from an investigation of the case that there is no doubt that the compass needles were stolen from Mr Jonathan Corry to prevent him surveying Lands for the freedmen, and I therefore recommend that a Compass be forwarded to the Sub. Asst. Asm'r at Jacksonville, Bvt. Col. Andrew Mahoney, to be loaned to Mr J Corry, for use in surveying Lands for freedmen.
