Bvt. Major Ketchum A.A.G.

Major.
I have the honor to request that the leave of absence granted me, on November 5th 1866 for fifteen days, be extended ten (10) days for the following reasons.

Important private business at my home; which I have been prevented visiting, by the dangerous illness of my father. This illness still continues, & it is impossible to tell yet what will be its termination.

Very Respectfully
Your Obed Servant
