taking up his case failed to find a bill against him, making a return of Justifiable homicide.

In my investigation I found that there was additional evidence, which was not brought before the Grand Jury, and such as would be liable to change their return, and set myself about collecting the witnesses with a view of taking them to Marlboro, and having the case called up again, but before this could be accomplished the Grand Jury was discharged

The case will be brought up again at the next. term of the Court.

So far as I can learn, Briddle has never served in the Rebel Army, or killed a colored man before.
