This Dr. John Donaldson alias John Simpson is a troublesome half-crazy freedman who has pestered all the officers who have been here, to collect certain claims for medical services rendered by him, and they have all refused to do so. He is a carpenter by trade, but labors under the delusion that he has a great knowledge of medicine and that he can and has worked wonderful cures. He also thinks that the medical Faculty are very jealous of him and charges them with poisoning of patients &c. His school of Medicine is a cross of the Botanical and African Conjuring. Capt Evans kept no record of the case spoken of but Donaldson brought his claims to me immediately,
