Sir,
Referring to your endorsement of the 10th instant, requesting that 2nd Lieutenant Paul A. Hambrick 45th Infantry, to be ordered to report to you; I have the honor to inform you that there being at present, but few Officers of the 45th Infantry on duty with it.  Major General George H. Thomas Commanding Department of the Treasurer in which the regiment is being organized has been requested to order Lieutenant Hambrick to report to you as soon as his services can be spared from his regiment.
