Sir, 
My object in writing to you is to see if I can get any information of my husband, Mr. Charles Hancock formerly Internal Revenue officer at the Custom House, Port Royal, S.C. A year ago he bought a plantation in Columbia County, Ga. eight miles outside the city of Augusta.

Mr. Hancock and myself were taken sick in July and remained there until the first of September, when our physician advised us to return North leaving the plantation in the hands of two men belonging there - he left home for Georgia the last week in October and I have written a great many letters to Mr. Hancock
