In my report for the month of July ult, mention of the plantations at "Davis Bend" was not made owing to the delay of the Sub Commissioners at that place in rendering his report. 

I have the honor to submit the following as a supplement to my report for July. 

The Freedpeople have made an excellent Crop, and are about to commence picking. The majority of the lessees have mortgaged a large portion of their crop for the purpose of obtaining supplies. As this might prejudice the Government lien for rent
