District of Grenada.
In this district much the same spirit of opposition to the execution of the United States laws, by United States officers is manifested as heretofore. Early in the month armed men held possession of the Court House and no civil business could be transacted for several days.

This spirit is more bitter in Choctaw County in this district, where the life of at least one of the Commissioners under the "Civil Rights Bill" has been threatened, and it is probable more.- The same Commissioner, Mr R.C. Johnson, has been assaulted for holding office under the United States, and has been unable to transact business pertaining to Freedmen's affairs, owing to the acts and threats of this lawless gang.
