There has been little change in the Bureau affairs for the month.- Some considerable mortality from Cholera has recurred, but this is owing more or less to the want of proper caution by the class (the Freedmen) among whom the greater loss has been:- the disease is not particularly virulent but yields readily to treatment.

As anticipated in my last report, the number of rations issued to destitutes in August has increased, and differing from last month a part of the increase has been in issues to Freedmen.- The increase of rations to Freedmen is 1115½, to Refugees 584½: total increase 1700.-
