I was at the Camp meeting help at Shipley Woods Anne Arundle County Maryland on Thursday, Aug 30th 1866. Was one of the managers appointed by the tent holders and preachers in charge of the Circuit.

On the Saturday previous to the 30th of August, a few Colored persons came to the Camp Ground and asked permission of some one to show them places to erect their tents upon the Camp Ground. The person referred them to me. I being the one selected to select sights for persons visiting to pitch tents upon the Camp Ground.
