a man named John Jauney took a lantern - went down to the Colored people's tents - broke open a trunk belonging to a Colored person, and after examining the trunk found a pocket-book containing $0.65¢, which he gave to the investigating Justices of the Peace, on Friday, the 31st Augst. and acknowledged that he did open the trunk. When he was asked why he opened the trunk, replied that he was looking for arms, The said John Jauney, being a private Citizen.

The goods of the Colored people were placed upon a fire, and burned, by men unknown to Witness.
