William Cook Sworn
Witness saw nothing of the riot, seen running & heard firing of pistols, left the camp ground about sunup. John Ward was asleep in the waggon during the riot, all the men I carried with me come up to the waggon, when the fireing commenced except James Magee, and he returned soon after

All was in favour of leaving the camp when they come together, saw a young man have a case knife, said he nocked it out of the hand of a negro, did not know which of the men it was, I think he went to the camp in my waggon

State of Maryland Anne Arundel Co to wit

On this 20th day of Sept 1866 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for Anne Arundel County. Personally appears William Cook and makes oath in due form of law that the above statements is true
