individual at each land office for two different tracks lying near together. The Preemption right in this office is to 160 acres and only one such is allowed to the same person 

The timbers on these lands is mostly Gum, Oak, Ash, Hickory, Pine to such as is usually found on bottom lands.

Some of these lands lie on Grand Prairie in Prairie and Arkansas Counties, and have been pronounced good by good judges, but most people in this country avoid it, preferring timber.

I shall be glad to render any service reasonable toward selecting any of these lands at any time. I believe the future of this state depends upon the quality if these lands in a great measure as they include most of the flat lands of the State and lay many of them .within the Rail Road limits where Government lands are held at $2.50 per acre many acres
