are worth entering at all - there is no information in the Said Office on this point there are men in the state doubtly who could give much valuable information as to [[strikethrough]] when [[/strikethrough]] the discription of lands that are valuable and subject to entry but so far I have been unable to find any one willing to give information that will issued to the benefit of Freedmen - 

As I have before stated nearly all the Freedmen who have the means or disposition to secure Homesteads are either under Contract to labor or are engaged with their crops until about the 1st of Jany next when the exclusive benefit of the Homestead law to the Union
