Surgeon-in-Chief, for information in relation to the Medical Department.

During the past two months the Cholera has prevailed here to considerable extent. The judicious and prompt arrangements made by the Surgeon-in-Chief and his assistants and their faithfulness in treating the disease entitle them to the thanks of the Government and all who feel an interest in relieving suffering humanity. Their success in treating this disease has been I believe equal to anything known in this country.

I am, General,
Very Respectfully,
Your Ob't Serv't
J M Sprague
Ass't Commissioner.
