Any person who shall be guilty of quarreling, or otherwise acting in a disorderly manner in the streets or elsewhere shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars. Any person who shall be found drunk or acting in a disorderly manner in the streets or elsewhere in the city may be committed to the guard room or jail until discharged by the recorders Court or by due course of law.

Daniel Crawford is a col'd. man I have known for many years. He has uncessingly born a good character, as stated by Judge Gibson

The witness Mr J W Apee was present and heard all that pass'd. from his affidavit which is herein enclosed, you will see that Daniel committed no violation of the 18th. section. From Judge Gibsons own statement it will doubtless appear to you as it did to me, that Daniel was fined because he was col'd. for no white man certainly would have been fined for like conduct. Mr. Engall belongs to that universal class of traders whose redeemer has not as yet appeared who think every person against them who do not trade with them.

I have not noticed this case for its own great importance, but because it is a fare specimen of cases
