claims a tax on male Negroes which was in the state [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] on March 1st 1866 who has lived in this County. at the time or who has removed to it since that time I believe the tax to be as follows

State tax   $1.00
Pauper tax  $1.00
School tax  $1.00
County tax  $1.00

I dont suppose that there has been any provisions made by this County for Schooling the Colored Children On some Plantations this tax amounts to from $100, 400. Col Dieper said he did not think it right I told him that I did not think it in accordance with the civil rights bill
