President Mordechai M. Johnson has referred to me in your recent letter in which you express an interest in securing a teaching position at Howard University. I wish to thank you for your letter to state that formal recommendations for teaching appointments are initiated by the dean of the school or college concerned. I am, therefore, referring to your letter to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. J. St. Clair Price, who will keep your application before him for consideration in connection with any vacancy which may occur in your field.
