Dearest Ida,
The letterman has just left your kind remembrance and I hasten to snatch a few moments from the declining day to answer. Dear, precious Carroll! If his young life must go out as the day sinks from our view, I pray that it may be in all the rosy, golden glory of the "Sun of Righteousness!" I am praying, dearest, that if he is taken, the Lord Jesus may swing the gates ajar, as he enters into the "New Jerusalem", so that our mourning hearts may be comforted by the sweet songs of the welcoming heavenly host.
