What is Charity

It's silence when your words would hurt,
It's patience when your neighbor is curt,
It's deafness when the scandal flows,
It's thoughtfulness for other's woes:
It's promptness when stern duty calls,
It's courage when misfortune falls.

Dear Sister,

This virtue I've seen in you these eleven years we've worked together. I've been looking a long time for a poem that fitted a lovely person like you. This is just one. I'll find another.

Co-worker, friend and Sister
