Christmas in the Heart

The town and countryside alike
Appear in festive glow,
Magnified so brilliantly
Against fresh-fallen snow.
The shoppers now are gathering,
The time is drawing near
To celebrate the Christ Child's birth
With old-time Christmas cheer.
The smiles that we encounter
Along our hurried way
Add an extra special touch
As we plan for this day.
Gloriously, the day arrives
To fill our lives with joy,
Praising Lord and Savior
In this Precious Baby Boy.

Christmas in the City

Christmas Eve in the city
Oh, the pleasure that it brings,
All the yuletide decorations
And the carolers as they sing.
Snowflakes now are softly falling
Making everything so white,
Thoughts are turned to our Lord Jesus
And His holy, righteous might.
Stars are twinkling in the heavens,
One is shining extra bright,
Could it be the Star we're told of
That lit the manger scene that night?
In the morning all the children
Will wake up with their eyes aglow
And open gifts that we have given
To show them that we love them so,
Just as Wise Men did for Jesus,
With gifts of frankincense and myrrh,
To show their love for our dear Savior
That now at long last He is here.
