His Name is Jesus

There was a Child, "a gentle Lamb,"
Born one night in Bethlehem,
And the precious little Boy
Filled so many hearts with joy -
For He was sent by God above
To shower mankind with His love,
And to free the world of sin,
And teach lost souls to hope again.
He's been with us all these years
To help us through life's trials and fears.
He is our strength, our Guiding Light,
His name is Jesus, and we know,
Though born so very long ago,
Each year in a special way
We honor Him on Christmas Day.

The Wonder of Christmas

In manger bed on fragrant hay,
The precious Baby Jesus lay,
Gentle Mary, proud vigil kept,
The Holy Infant, smiling slept.

Soft lambs and sheep beside Him stayed,
Warm shields from chilling, cold winds made,
Wise Men and shepherds traveled afar,
Guided by rays of gold-gleaming Star.

Heralding angels chorused in flight
The gladness of what glorious night,
Rich gifts in praise were brought to greet
The sacred Christ Child, small and sweet.

A brilliant, bright halo encircled above
The cradled dear Baby, God's gift of love,
The hopes for joy and peace were born,
Our wondrous gift that first Christmas morn.
