Dearest Mama,

After a very wonderful visit at home, I'm back at the grind again. I received some very wonder - ful news — I got a straight A in French. That means that I must not have made as many stupid mistakes as I thought. I hope that I did half as well in my other subjects.

Jeanne and I had a lovely dinner at Jack Dampsey's place in [[strikethrough]] The n [[\strikethrough]] Times Square. We got our preliminary Ivy pins yesterday, too. The next important meeting is on the 22nd, but I won't be there if Busby's here.

2.

I had my first Hist. of Lang. class today. I think I'm going to like the course. I have to have $6.50 worth of books. I've bought the $2.50 one. When I absolutely need the other, I'll get it.

If I get a chance this week - end, I'm going downtown to look around for a gown — just to see what the prospects are.

There ain't much to tell this soon so I'll be writing again soon.

I did get a letter from Fern today. Must keep up with my out of town friends. I have a million letters to write, but only a couple after this note tonight.
