Forwards com'n of Capt Albert Evans stating that in obedience to instructions to prepare a schedule of all the land and now landowners in the State he called a the Comptrollers Office and found no facilities could be extended him. Dr Smith the com'r of direct tax has the Assessment Rolls and offices in use and will not be finished for one month yet. Desires further instructions upon the subject, as it is impossible to procure the information, on account of the disorganized condition of the civil offices. | Aug 2d Respectfully returned to Genl Kiddoo. It is believed that further action in this matter may be suspended without detriment to the interests of the service O.O.H |

No reason is known why any obstacles should be presented by the persons who now occupy this land. It is believed that Mr Woods will be protected by the laws of Arkansas in his claim S.T A.A.A.G |
