Value L36.19.3, donated by the Freedmens Aid Commission at Birmingham Eng. for of the freedmen of US. Requires usual certificate | June 18' Respectfully returned to the Actg Asst Secy of War. A record of these papers has been taken at this office. It is respectfully requested that the usual action may be taken by the War Dept to secure the free entry of the within mentioned goods. O.O.H July 12 Recd back with the information that free entry has been granted. Filed. |

The certificate mentioned cannot be found at this office. It is requested that the office of Asst Comr may be searched for it. July 5 Recd back with certificate of deposit enclosed, July 6 Respectfully returned to Asst Secy of Treasury (through Hon Secy of War) with the original certificate enclosed as requested. |
