| July 7th 1866 #175. | Ward Henry  Late Capt 1 U.S.C.T. See "W" 148 Vol 7 | Herkimer NY July 5' 66.  Acknowledges return of his com'n in reference to a horse sold for him at Plymouth, NC., and makes further explanation in regard to his claim for the money realized from the sale of the horse, also refuting charges of Capt Seeley. | July 10 Respectfully referred to Capt Seeley (through Asst Comr NC) APK A.A.A.G July 23d Recd back endorsed by Capt Seeley, that he has no authority to take any action in the matter States that he has been relieved and turned over all funds, that it was his intention originally to keep this money apart from all other funds. Recommends the return of the money to Capt Ward upon it being substantiated by the officer at Plymouth. July 20 Ret'd to AC of NC who will call upon agent at Plymouth for report in accordance with the suggestions of Maj Seeley hereon. APK A.A.A.G Recd back Aug 22 stating that the horse was undoubtedly private and the money should be refunded. Aug 23 Respectfully returned to AC of NC who will please cause the money to be returned.
