I was tutored in the two years in those subjects so when I took the examinations of [[strikethrough]] Redmark [[/strikethrough]] Bryn Mawr College, I was able to pass. [[strikethrough]] I remember where Geology was concerned, I didn't know what that was all about. [[/strikethrough]]
When I was asked to describe the circulation of blood, I drew a little picture of a man in a dress suit and his intestines all showing and the teacher passed me thinking that this is something fresh or she really knows something. Also, I didnt know a thing and where Geology was concerned. In Geometry, because I was tutored I had a memory of the book but I could never solve an original problem. I couldn't ... I couldn't understand it. 
I did pass, I used the cunning of my mind. Having memorized due to being tutored, on every question I went as far as the book went, and when i had to go further there was nothing. So the professor passed me either because he saw that I was showing good will, or because he didn't examine the papers carefully. And there were plenty of good answers to all these printed things.
I had enough vitality to resent being forced to study things I didn't want. [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] The things that I did want I was very good at.
