. Ralph P. referes to Ralph Paiwonsky, present governor of the Virgin Islands. When David and I lived there the Paiwonsky's were our best friends...1932.

. Constantine is Mildred Constantine, curator at the Museum of M.A.

. Weber is Wilhelmina Weber Furlong who was executive secretary and Mother Superior of the Art Students League, when were students there. IT was through the Furlongs that we knew about Bolton and bought our farm there. She was a fine but unknown painter. recently she had a posthumous exhibition in [[strikethrough]] Glands [[/strikethrough]] Glens Falls N.Y. (1966)


. David's offers of money were strange to me. I certainly complained about sales to him and we discussed the ups and downs of the art world many times, but I never asked him for money nor did I ever accept any, nor did I want money from him.
