This observation of JOHN OUTTERBRIDGE, Artistic Operations, express the need of a great many people for the Academy. He continues, "It is essential to the successful existence of our communities that the compulsive urge of one's inner being finds satisfactory means of full fulfilment." THE COMMUNICATIVE ARTS ACADEMY, INC. Has been an integral part of total community development since its inception in 1970. The Arts Academy presents the nation an opportunity to experience a new implementation of an effective institution for individual progress and community welfare. The use of the Arts as a "tool" for meaningful academic, economic and social development. Instructional sessions provide the attainment of salable skills and production of marketable items and utilizes art processes for the development of educational methods. The Academy is an independent institution, responsible for its support operating on a non-profit status. During the past year the program accomodated [[accommodated]] five hundred participants: and over thirty thousand people received indirect participation from on-premises and off-premises presentations. Participation with the Academy is determined by membership. The contribution of only ten dollars per year entitles an entire family access to the total program. The unusual organizational structure provides the people an opportuniy ty [[opportunity]] to determine the curriculum and method of learning. At the Academy, the "Motivators" and "Participants" make the decisions and the community executes the "Action". Objectives 1. To explore personal potential, developing personal efficiency and self-esteem. 2. To provide constructive outlets for emotional and creative expression. 3. To provide placement and job referral service for participants. 4. To use the quality of the Arts to attain disciplined and constructive individual action throughout the community. 5. To use materials in creative and original forms of interpretation. 6. To provide space and equipment for artists or group that do not have studio or rehearsal facilities. 7. To provide facilities for groups and organizations that contribute to cultural enrichment. 8. To maintain local gallery facilities for artist. 9. To develop competent craftsmen with skills to serve parks and recreations, industry, churches, and other institutions. 10. To assist and collaborate with other organizations and institutions to develop and impliment [[implement]] new and effective teaching- learning methods using the Arts. Services 1. The program provides career attainment for people who cannot secure a college education 2. The Artisian-motivators [[?]] maintain studio activity providing stimulating appeal for passing observers to arouse their unrealized interest and possible latent talent. 3. The program increases the number of skilled, employable people. 4. The auditoru ium [[auditorium]] area houses a multiplicity of varied community functions. 5. The Motion Picture Company is exceptionally appropriate being that writers, actors, directors, musicians, dancers, set designer, technicians, etc. are program activities. 6. The program activity provides experience needed for careers, application of business procedures for success in entertainment or commercial positions. 7. Participants receive incentive bonus compensation while in attendance. 8. Boutique: a sales facility of workshop productions. 9. Coffeehouse: a house inside premises, providing eating, recreation, and artistic sharing. 10. Recording company: a commercial recording facility to expose unrecognized talents.
