Someone called my attention to page 8, Oct 1st issue of Art Digest. on [[strikethrough]] The piece [[/strikethrough]] about protests to the World's Fair [[strikethrough]] award [[/strikethrough]] selections.

My quotes "cheesecloth & garter" should read "cheesecloth goddess" — the [[strikethrough]] phrase used [[/strikethrough]] slogan invented by some senator some four of five years ago [[strikethrough]] in derision of [[/strikethrough]] [[strikethrough]] deriding [[/strikethrough]] condemning the expensive Gilbert White mural [[strikethrough]] commissioned by the old regime. [[/strikethrough]] for the Dept of the Int. or Commerce - which?

I [[strikethrough]] used [[/strikethrough]] [[strikethrough]] quoted [[/strikethrough]]
said "cheesecloth goddess" because the Section of Painting & Sculpture made use of this slogan in its resolution to [[strikethrough]] spend govern the people's money on a more real worthy kind of mural painting. [[/strikethrough]] launch its program without the cheese. - and, [[strikethrough]] in its and then this World's Fair choices [[/strikethrough]] now, look what we've got!! [[strikethrough]] in this recent award [[/strikethrough]] - !!!

The charges [[strikethrough]] made by Mr Reilly and the others, concerning [[/strikethrough]] that the Mahoney mural [[strikethrough]] being [[/strikethrough]] is unoriginal, obvious, or a swipe [[strikethrough]] on someone else [[/strikethrough]] - [[strikethrough]] are of little importance no [[/strikethrough]] is important, [[strikethrough]] except [[/strikethrough]] only in that it made [[strikethrough]] news [[/strikethrough]] copy for the [[strikethrough]] World Telegram. [[/strikethrough]] press.

[[strikethrough]] There were [[/strikethrough]]

The real point is - "what is the matter with the Section of Painting & Sculpture"?"

There were [[strikethrough]] other [[/strikethrough]] hundreds of [[strikethrough]] candidates [[/strikethrough]] designs presented [[strikethrough]] contestants [[/strikethrough]] in this competition - [[strikethrough]] and some some [[/strikethrough]] many were unpretentious [[strikethrough]] modest [[/strikethrough]] human [[strikethrough]] and human [[/strikethrough]] & in sound
