My Dear Charlie,

I was up to see you and learned you are to be seen about 12 o'clock: as I have promised Win to go out to his farm Saturday; I shall have to defer seeing you till Monday.

I had an appointment Thursday morning to get your clock, from the man who has charge of W Clytons affairs who is in the City Hospital; out of his mind with erysipelus and water on the brain.

Two men went to his place Wednesday; and claimed to have bought it at the sale of his affects; and the restaurant keeper at 234-4th Ave who leases the building let them have it after being warned to deliver it to no one but me.

I do not know the name of the person who has looked after the matter but he lives in the Raines law hotel corner of 19th St & fourth 4th Ave. S.W.

He has promised to see Appel the auctioneer; but I have small hopes of seeing it again, after two strangers are away with it.
