[[underline]]Monday, April 6, 1953[[/underline]]--BOSTON,MASS.-- It was a cloudy day in New York, I remember, and I was frantic that the plane wouldn't go and I could hardly believe it when it did. Then there was that moment at the airport as we walked toward eachother and we seemed to be trembling with awareness that this was a special moment and there was so much to say and neither of us could do anything but grin at the other with love and excitement. There was separate checking in and a wild dash to shower and change and then you were in my room having martinis and we were on a lovely island of togetherness. We went downstairs to the dining-room for supper and then I told you I couldn't play games with you and that the cards were on the table...and you arrived with your brief-case with the robe in it. [[underline]]Tuesday, April 7, 1953[[/underline]]--BOSTON,MASS.-- the morning broke and we were in eachother's arms and you had the half-awake, half-asleep dream with the god-damn best monument I've ever seen...And then it got to be six o'clock and I didn't know if you would be coming back or not. And you did...And it was fun hearing about the auditorium costs. And then there were martinis upstairs and dinner upstairs --''the world inward''-- and you said " There's a wonderful life waiting for someone on a silver platter" and I knew what you said was true and I also knew that I hoped I was the one who would be able to share that wonderful life...

[[underline]]Wednesday, April 8[[/underline]]--BOSTON,MASS--I was wrong--it was [[underline]]this[[/underline]] morning you had the dream. And then we had a part of breakfast together and then I had to go...but we had learned a lot about eachother and it had all begun to seem truly marvellous and what you'd said in the Elbow Room began to make very good sense--in [[underline]] this[[/underline]] instance...
