Dear Jody,
In this proposal I've tried to outline the important aspects of making, starting and keeping a creative journal. The purpose of the book would not to just show how but also inspire and give guidance. The journaling book would bring together the idea of writing, list making, collecting, drawing and collating. I've seen journals, sketchbooks and notebooks, but I have not seen all of these ideas brought together.
I am hoping the proposal has brought some insight to possibilities of this book project. As a teacher and an artist I have instructed friends and students on how to start their own books. Many have continued to use this process to enrich their lives. I feel if this book project would happen, it makes that audience much wider than I could ever achieve as one person.
I am very excited about your interest in this book proposal. As I have said before the journals were started as a record for my sons. It seems all of sudden 25 years have passed and there are 86 journals. To have a book published out of that experience of keeping a daily record would be pretty amazing. It's kinda hard to remain calm. I feel like Sally Fields as she accepted her Oscar, "You really like Me".

I will be leaving on vacation August 23 rd and will return on September 3 rd. If you have any other questions please give me a call.

Warmly,

Janice
