Dear Reggie,

No, no we haven't forgotten "Ole Reg" just because you've moved out in retirement village along with all the other "Swells". In fact every time something about exhibitions concerning African-American artists come up I think, "hey Ole Reg" should be here to get his 2 cents worth in. Now don't get me wrong, I think you deserve to be out there in the South west baking in the sun, staying away from children under 18 and exchanging tid bits with your peers.
Things are like always here, new artists, new shows, new problems, and of course repetitions of all the old artists, shows and problems. Ray Saunders just got back from Paris where he'd organized a ge-together of a bunch of us, (I was invited but had a conflict, had to be in Los Angeles, eat your heart out Henri Ghent), bur Faith Ringgold, Martin Puryear, Bete Saa and others were there.
Enclosed is a review of Rudolf Baranik's and May Stevens show at Exit Art, it's a h-u-g-e show: As you can read though, this critic didn't like their works.
I hope you're set your studio up to work by now, you know you're come to have to come in from the swimming pool someday and face up to the fact that you're a painter. Which means of course you're supposed to be doing some paintings. I'd love to see some slides?, or whatever of what you've done lately.
Nene and I are doing fine, both working and exhibiting. I keep thinking things are going to let up, but luckily they don't.
