The Schools generally broke up from [[strikethrough]] the 26th to 30th ulto' [[/strikethrough]] except the School at Havre-de Grace Md which at the request of the Teacher remained open until the middle of the month.

Ten new Schools were opened this Quarter, Nine in Delaware, and one [[strikethrough]] (1) [[/strikethrough]] in Maryland.

The night Schools were discontinued early in the Quarter, owing to the necessity of their work at Farming and their weariness after such labor, being too great for study.

There is no doubt that the Schools will open in the Fall term, with renewed vigor, and increased interest, and Scholars, and in many places new objects of attraction will induce many new Scholars to enter upon a course of study, and aid the old ones to strive the harder - for a good, solid education; and in this connection, it may be remarked, that all the old teachers, have been invited to return September 1st to resume their old positions, which they have filled with so much honor and credit to themselves their friends & Scholars.
