Schools
The school located at Brookhaven closed June 29th,; the examination was highly creditable both to teachers and pupils.

Marriage Relations
It seems almost impossible to make the more ignorant class of freed people, understand their marriage relations - Husbands leave their wives and wives leave their husbands. The Sub. Asst. Com. had some of them arrested and after explaining to them their duties and obligations in this respect induced them to return to their homes and live together amicably.
