Sick, Old and Infirm 
Corinth being a point easy of access, the number of sick and homeless is largely in excess of the regular city paupers.

Schools 
The School of Corinth is in a prosperous condition and improving. It has an average attendance of 65 pupils.  Another is in satisfactory operation at Pontotoc and others are being opened at various points.

Marriage Relations 
no change in the marital relations of the freedmen is reported.

Dispositions of Whites towards Blacks 
A remarkable change for the better in the temper of the citizens is apparent, owing probably to the presence of the military force stationed at Corinth.

State laws 
There is a disposition on the part of the civil authorities to be harsh and rigid in enforcing the Penal Code particularly when the parties whose cases are tried
