0903 Warren Tavern P.O. Chester Co. Pa July 17th 1867 Maj Genl O.O. Howard Sir, I respectfully make application for a position in the Freedmens Bureau, of which you are chief. I enlisted May 1861 as a private and was finally mustered out as Captain Nov 7th 1865. My first two years Service as a private was in 60 A. 1st Penna Reserves. I was ordered before Maj Genl Casey and his board of Officers, convened at Washington D.C. and had the honor of passing as Capt 1st Class. I have been wounded twice, and participated in all the engagement with my command, while present for duty. My General health is good. I am Sir very respectfully Your Most Obt Servt Thos J Malony Jr. Late Capt 108 U.S.C. Troops
