I borrowed of him five dollars a short time prior to my leaving his house - and without saying a word as to what I had made or was worth; and which is all the borrowed money now due him.

The foul imputation relative to my bearing toward females in his house does not speak well for his wife who I accompanied - at her request - to church but a few evenings prior to my leaving the house of said day.

As to his Catholic chambermaid charging me with improper conduct, I can but say that sometime in April '67 he came to my room and mentioned some of the charges set forth in his communication, but without ordering me to leave his house or pretending to believe the charge.
